Corsair Issues Warning of Possible H100 Fan Controller Issues
« on: October 03, 2011, 08:30:05 am »
Over the last 24 hours, we have been hearing that Corsair’s high-end Hydro Series H100 high performance liquid CPU cooler has been temporarily removed from some retailers’ shelves.
Affected Hydro Series H100 series units belong to batch #11359403 (the number under the first barcode in the serial number sticker on your H100 package).

So had you bought one of those already or were you still in the "checking it out" phase?

At least it affects only a single batch of this cooler.

I'm still pondering the purchase of one - the price of the H100 here in Australia is rather prohibitive (AUS$169 is the cheapest I found).
On top of that, I also need a proper case to house this in - what I have now is simply - well, shameful (hence the no pictures in the System Builders thread).
Kind of torn between the BitFenix Colossus and the Corsair 650D :/

I have been spying others, but 'true' water cooling goes against my grain (liquid + electronics = not good bed fellows).
That said, this setup, coupled with some really decent Noctua fans, would cool *any* system just fine ;)
As it is, I can happily run my 2600K @ 4.9GHz with my crappy Thermaltake Frio 24/7, and I know the boundary for my particular CPU is around the 5.7GHz mark, if I had the right cooling, so I'll see where this leads me, once I do get some decent cooling :)

Stay tuned for more updates, once I get my next cooling solution ;)

Well, good luck with whatever you do finally decide on.   I've always kinda been the same way with water cooling.....I think it looks pretty neat, but then when I think about using it, images of the cooling system springing a leak and making my mobo go *poof!* come to mind and I chicken out.   I saw a system once that had some kind of dye put in the water that made the clear tubes glow a funky neon green color under the type of light he had in his case.   Looked like he had some kind of toxic radiation sludge in there or something.   I thought that looked so cool, but it still wasn't cool enough to overcome the "leak nightmare" and make me want to try it myself.
